A stay abroad during your studies offers the opportunity for unique experiences and has many advantages. At this stage of life, it is relatively easy to make a stay possible. In addition, there is the opportunity not only to further train yourself professionally and linguistically, but also to broaden your personal horizons and collect plus points for your professional future.

There is a large number of collaborations with research institutes and universities in Germany and abroad. Scientists from all over the world come to Duisburg and Essen to take part in research. Conversely, researchers from Essen and Duisburg are welcome guests all over the world, as guest professors, guest scientists or as exchange students. The Faculty of Physics welcomes and supports in particular the activities of students who want to spend a semester abroad, and also arranges long-term research stays for young scientists after graduation and during or after their doctorate.
