This undergraduate degree program includes in-depth training in traditional psychology basic subjects (General Psychology and Biological Foundations, Differential and Personality Psychology, Developmental Psychology and Social Psychology), a four-subject elective area (Work and Organizational Psychology, Educational Psychology, Community Psychology and Health Psychology) and a cross-content training in methodology and psychological diagnostics. In addition, the history of the subject as well as the guidance for critically reflecting on ethical aspects of psychological research and the practical application are integral training components.

The concept of the curriculum is based on the recommendations of the German Psychological Society (DGPs) with regard to the relative weighting of methods, basic and applied subjects. The integration of intensively supervised face-to-face events as well as the cooperation in mentor-supported, computer-mediated working groups on virtual teaching and learning platforms enables the systematic communication of social and communicative competences, which are necessary for a successful psychological work.

The Bachelor in Psychology qualifies you for professional activities that include tasks in the application of psycho-diagnostic procedures, psychological counseling, intervention planning and evaluation of measures in educational, economic and administrative organizations or in health and social work. Central occupational activities include:

• the analysis and optimization of communication, teaching and learning processes, of work and production processes,
• the diagnosis of personality traits as well as behavioral and developmental traits and disorders,
• the description and diagnosis of the conditions of social conflict, the formulation and implementation of social and community-psychological intervention approaches and their evaluation,
• Personnel selection and staff development measures and
• the teaching of psychological knowledge in the mentioned fields of practice.

This combines methodical and practical elements of problem analysis or inventory, prediction and planning, execution and verification of the success of interventions.

Стажировки и практика в программе обучения "Psychology"

The job-oriented internship in the Bachelor's degree program in Psychology serves to gather and critically reflect on practical experience in the application of psychological knowledge and competences.

The Vocational Internship is a compulsory internship.

The internship comprises a total of 210 working hours. Of these, there are 200 hours of work to do practical psychological work and the remaining 10 working hours to independently prepare a reflected internship report on the practical experience gained. The implementation is possible from the credit of the 55 credit points / ECTS on your audit account. In order to be able to implement in-depth theoretical knowledge within the framework of the vocationally oriented internship, we recommend completing the internship only towards the end of your studies.

In order to ensure the compatibility of work or other obligations with the studies, the internship can also be extended over a longer period of time or completed in several blocks as long as the internship remains the same. Working students may be offered internships in connection with their professional activity if the tasks performed in the context of this activity fulfill the criteria of the content and if the internship differs clearly from the regular professional duties.
