Study sections / course content / module descriptions

Studying psychology at the University of Bremen offers a broad scientific approach. Experience and behavioral science approaches determine the focus of the training. Practical relevance, problem-oriented and interdisciplinary research and discovery learning are characteristics. In addition to an intensive introductory phase and extensive method training in general studies, the basic modules focus on the interaction of theory, practice and methodology.

Course schedule

All basic modules consist of two semesters to ensure the systematic integration of theory and method application and to give the students enough time to develop and work on their own questions. The course begins with the more basic or undergraduate subjects in psychology, then comes to the more application-related subjects and culminates in the profile building that leads to master's programs or qualifies for certain practical fields.

Compulsory, elective and elective subjects

In the first to fourth semesters, only compulsory courses take place. The first two semesters include five basic modules and two teaching units in General Studies. Four basic modules are offered in the third and fourth semesters. In the fifth semester, two elective modules must be studied (optionally also at a partner university abroad). In the sixth semester, an optional minor, the internship and the bachelor thesis are planned.
