The aim of the teacher training program is to prepare the students for a successful job. For this purpose, both subject-specific and subject-didactic and language-practical knowledge is necessary. The study is completed with the first state examination. Master's program for teaching at grammar schools with degree: "First state examination" and / or "Master of Education". Comprehensive modules from subject 2 are studied, so that after the Bachelor and Master phase both subjects of the subject combination (subject 1 and 2) have an equivalent scope of study.
After three semesters in the master's program, the first state examination can be taken, which qualifies for entry into the preparatory service (traineeship). The master's program provides for the strengthening of didactic content, such as: For example, the study-related didactic internship.
In the fourth semester, the master's thesis will be prepared. It can be created on a university basis or in conjunction with professional practice. In the case of a didactic or educational subject, it can also be coupled with the second written housework in the preparatory service. In this case, the completion of the Masters is only possible during the traineeship.

University of BayreuthResearch and teaching at the Faculty of Languages & Literatures is interdisciplinary and international, informed by a cultural studies approach and often focused on intercultural processes. The faculty offers a wide spectrum of disciplines, ranging from African Studies, English and American Studies, Arabic and Islamic Studies, German Studies and Romance Studies to Music and Theatre Studies and Media Studies. The faculty’s study programmes are both research-oriented and practice-oriented; they are all characterized by an excellent student/teacher ratio and direct contact to teaching staff.
