The traffic system management course conveys exactly the competencies that are required for the design of future mobility in engineering as well as in social and political terms. The specialization in mobility and transport from the beginning of the course guarantees a really professional qualification. Due to the very practice-oriented degree, there is a high potential for their immediate, comprehensive and successful start into working life.

Diverse tasks - different fields of application. Traffic system management offers many options for the professional future, for example in:

  • Industrial company
  • Software company
  • Mobility provider
  • Engineering offices
  • Local public transport companies
  • Railway companies
  • Transport advice
  • Planning associations
  • Federal and state authorities as well as ministries
  • Local governments
  • Universities and research institutions
  • all areas of mobility management
  • ...

You have the opportunity to join our practice partners Siemens, init and PTV, with whom you already contacted during your studies, directly. You can work for large international corporations such as Deutsche Bahn, in the strategy departments of the automotive industry or in the city, state, federal government or even in European ministries to push the mobility transition. In IT companies you can deal with digitization in traffic or research further into solutions for the mobility of tomorrow at many research institutions, universities and colleges around the world. With this bachelor's degree, the world of mobility is open to you!

Международный обмен по программе обучения "Transportation Management"

Since 2011 there have been international workshops and excursions with our international partners such as the University of Waterloo and Mc Gill University under the title “Hands-on Sustainable Mobility”, and in 2017 the University Center of Brusque - UNIFEBE, the University of the Philippines , the New Jersey Institute of Technology and in 2018 also the Polytechnic University of Madrid joined the exchange with our degree program.

These established collaborations with colleges and universities around the world provide an insight into the most varied of transport systems. During the annual excursions and workshops, friendships are made among students and mutual understanding is strengthened. During these trips you will experience the world of traffic in Canada, Brazil or the Philippines and bring lasting knowledge from the excursions back to the university and thus into your studies. In addition to the professional exchange, the focus is also on getting to know the respective culture and friendship between the students: visits to pubs in Canada, barbecues in Brazil or discovering new culinary delights in the Philippines. And - awakened the desire to travel?

Стажировки и практика в программе обучения "Transportation Management"

A practical training that already qualifies as a bachelor's degree for professional practice is very important to us. Cooperation partners such as init AG (endowed professorship), PTV GROUP or SIEMENS Mobility & amp; Logistics help to take practical requirements into account.

The cooperation partners provide a basis for internships for the practical semester in the 5th semester. Here, acquired knowledge can be applied directly in practice and important experience for professional life can be gained. Students receive intensive support, with the focus on independent work in the development of intelligent solutions for current and future tasks.

In order to impart the practical know-how at first hand, we involve lecturers as well as qualified employees of the cooperation partners.

Student Research

We conduct research in numerous projects to develop applied solutions for sustainable and innovative mobility. This ensures that our teaching is on the cutting edge and often beyond. In addition, by participating in research projects as well as your own student research, we enable you to gain initial research experience during your bachelor's degree and help shape the future.

Учебный план программы обучения "Transportation Management"

We are a unique course that bundles the various areas on the subject of mobility and traffic. Beyond the traditionally traditional courses, we convey the content and interactions between mobility and traffic and add the necessary knowledge from the technical, social-scientific and psychological areas.

The modules of the course deal with the subject areas of bicycle traffic, pedestrian traffic, local public transport, road planning, traffic safety, traffic informatics and traffic psychology. The focus of the course is the question of how mobility can be made sustainable in the future.

The topics are conveyed in a practical way in the varied lectures and exciting study projects. Every semester there are application-related study projects. For example, traffic systems are designed, mobility apps programmed or cities are improved for cycling. All lectures take place in small groups, which makes the teaching content more personal. Direct contact with professors and employees is possible at any time. We also offer the opportunity to take part in applied research, conferences and seminars, and if you have problems related to your studies, there is support in the form of exercises, tutorials and the math learning center.

We work closely with our partners from the business sector for lectures, projects and practical experience. This guarantees direct contact with companies and excellent job prospects after graduation.

Course structure

In semesters 1 - 4, the basics of computer science, mathematics, mobility, transport and the areas of specialization are taught. After you have completed your practical semester in the 5th semester, you choose a specialization from the focus areas in the 6th semester and write your bachelor thesis there in the 7th semester.
