Visual Computing is a special field of application-oriented computer science that is becoming increasingly important in today's society. It includes all areas in which images are digitally generated, analyzed, modified and processed. In addition to the fundamentals of mathematics and computer science, the students receive in-depth knowledge in the areas of computer graphics, computer vision, artificial intelligence and the subject of human-machine interaction. The professors maintain intensive practical contacts so that the students in their bachelor thesis can work on current practical issues at the end of their studies.

The practical semester takes place in the fifth semester .
In order to underline the informatics character of the degree, one module each from the subjects offered in the Bachelor of Informatics program is to be taken in the fourth, sixth and seventh semesters choose.
In the sixth and seventh semesters you have to take specialist elective subjects from the field of visual computing. Thus, the students can set priorities according to their strengths and interests.
The students spend around 20-25 hours a week in lectures, exercises and internships at the university. In addition, they have to invest more time in learning and independently deepening the content. The exams are spread evenly over the entire period of study. So you always have an overview of your performance and academic successes.
