Учебный план программы обучения "Biochemistry"

The Biochemistry master's program is research-oriented.

The content of the course is based on the recommendations of the Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (GBM) and the Society of German Chemists (GDCh) and the Association of the Chemical Industry for the establishment of biochemical master's courses. The focus here is on protein and enzyme biochemistry and metabolic processes, especially in natural product biosynthesis, with a chemical orientation. Another focus is on cellular processes in pro- and eukaryotes with a strong biological component. Practical activities in these areas form a very important component. The course also includes environmental issues and regulations as well as the guidelines for good scientific practice.

Graduates have a broad theoretical and practical basis in biochemistry and the chemistry of biological systems, supplemented by extensive knowledge of materials and current methods, and are thus able to work on complex issues in biochemistry in a scientifically appropriate, well-founded and critical manner. At the same time, they learn how to solve tasks both independently and in an interdisciplinary manner. The graduates acquire professionally relevant key qualifications such as communication and team skills, work organization and project planning.

The Master's degree in Biochemistry is implemented across faculties and is highly interdisciplinary, international and research-oriented. The course is modular. The range of courses is spread over three semesters. The fourth semester is intended for the preparation of the master's thesis and the holding of the colloquium. The third semester is designed in such a way that it is particularly suitable for a temporary stay at another university (mobility window). The course comprises six compulsory modules and elective modules totaling 35 credit points in the areas of technical biochemistry, chemistry of biological systems and general modules.

The degree covers the key areas of "Technical Biochemistry" and "Chemistry of Biological Systems" and is rounded off by associated interdisciplinary modules.
