Программа обучения "Computer Science" в University of Applied Sciences for Business in Hanover

Informatik

The newly designed bachelor's degree in computer science conveys the currently observable digital change, ie the growing degree of digitization and IT penetration of everyday life and experience. IT solutions have become indispensable in our modern, increasingly digital everyday and working world. Whether we take the train, make phone calls, use online services, are supported by artificial intelligence or use software in our studies and at work: complex, extremely powerful and highly specialized IT solutions are behind all of this.

Designing, programming and finally implementing these is the core task of computer scientists. The theoretical, technical know-how and practical training required for this are provided by studying computer science at the Hanover University of Applied Sciences (FHDW) with a Bachelor of Science degree. The scientifically based computer science course imparts specialist knowledge in the breadth and depth required to develop complex software and hardware systems analytically, creatively and constructively. It prepares optimally for the bachelor's degree, later professional activity and a possibly subsequent master's degree.

Карьерные перспективы по завершению программы обучения "Computer Science"

The computer science course at the Hanover University of Applied Sciences with a Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) is offered to all those who want to become designers of digital change themselves and who are interested in topics such as artificial intelligence and big data , mathematics, technical issues and the entire IT area. It qualifies for the implementation of demanding IT projects that require the know-how of well-trained specialists - and thus opens up excellent job opportunities for the students. At the same time, they are optimally prepared for a master's degree that may follow.

With a Bachelor of Science degree, studying computer science prepares you professionally for future-oriented jobs in the IT industry, in innovative start-up companies, with software and hardware manufacturers, in system houses or in the IT departments of insurance companies, banks, retail companies and the like public administrations. The job description ranges from the classic computer scientist who develops IT applications, through activities as an IT consultant in the field of IT consulting, to the development of solutions for human-computer interaction.

The strong FHDW partner network of cooperating companies from Hanover and all of Lower Saxony offers exciting insights and experiences during the regular practical phases of the semester and supports students with scholarships during their studies and after their bachelor's degree with their career start. The more than 250 partner companies include well-known funding companies such as TÜV Nord Service, IT Niedersachsen, KIND hearing aids, Sennheiser, VGH Versicherungen, Concordia Versicherung and many more. They may also accompany the students in the subsequent optional master's degree.

Стажировки и практика в программе обучения "Computer Science"

The bachelor’s degree in computer science at the FHDW Hanover is structured in a way that integrates practice – similar to a dual degree. Theory and practice alternate meaningfully during the semester and complement each other perfectly.

The lecture phases at the University of Applied Sciences impart the necessary theoretical knowledge, which the students can apply directly during the regular practical phases that follow in one of the FHDW partner companies assigned to them. Studying here means not only excellent professional qualifications, but also extensive professional experience with the acquisition of a Bachelor of Science. This also includes the necessary social skills to work in teams and fill managerial positions. The entry into the job can be done fluently after the studies - trainee programs usually no longer have to be completed after the bachelor's degree.

In contrast to a classic dual course of study in computer science at a university of applied sciences, where future students contact the company directly to introduce themselves there and go through the selection process, prospective students for this bachelor's degree in computer science apply directly to the FHDW Hannover. The University of Applied Sciences carries out the admission procedures and selection interviews for studying in the Department of Computer Science in cooperation with a selection of numerous partner companies. The university and company decide together which applicants will be admitted to the degree program with a Bachelor of Science degree. The course is financed by the respective partner company where the practical phases are completed, from the first semester to the bachelor's degree.

Учебный план программы обучения "Computer Science"

The Bachelor of Science course in Computer Science teaches the entire range of computer science and covers the following main topics during the standard seven semesters of study:

Software Engineering

As part of this major in computer science studies, the methodological skills are taught to analyze complex issues from various application areas and to develop software systems that are state-of-the-art. Based on larger integration projects, there are insights into the special problems of teamwork and the handling of the existing solutions in modern, integrated development environments.

Information systems

Current architectures and standard components of modern information systems are the focus of this major in the Computer Science course. It conveys the competence to develop abstract and forward-looking models on the basis of which business processes and technical processes can be efficiently handled.

Technical systems

This major in the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science course deals with the fundamental importance of logical functions and their implementation in switching networks. Concepts are taught that regulate the interaction of system components, system interfaces and information systems. The aim is also to design and implement circuits for microprocessors based on simulations.

Operating systems and networks

This is about the basic mechanisms for managing resources. The focus is on the one hand on the topics of "Virtual Machine", mass storage management, management of system resources and hardware abstraction. On the other hand, the most important knowledge for management and communication in distributed systems is conveyed via network protocols for networking heterogeneous IT systems.

Theoretical foundations of computer science

This major in the computer science course is characterized by mathematics. It imparts knowledge of methods that survive current trends and enable lifelong learning. They are the be-all and end-all in computer science. The mathematical models that are fundamental to many areas of computer science are developed here. In this way, fundamental structures from different areas of computer science can be compared, related to each other and further developed in a targeted manner.

Future Competence Digitization

"Corporate transformation from the point of view of IT" runs like a red thread through the entire course. It can be found in various modules when studying in this department, such as "Information Infrastructures", "Business Process Modeling" and "Data Analytics". In the "Ubiquitous Computing" module (computer omnipresence), which deals with "smart products" in the Internet of Things, everything revolves around the topic of digitization.
