In the Leuphana Semester you will deal fundamentally with science and science. This will train your critical thinking skills to be able to question familiar things; This will teach you to choose the appropriate approach to systematically gain knowledge and you will know how to use scientific knowledge responsibly. At the same time, you will receive an introduction to digital media. This means that you deal with key concepts in digital media studies. The examination of the principles of scientific ways of thinking and working in general as well as the introduction to the major in concrete terms form the foundation for the interdisciplinary bachelor's degree in digital media.

The Minor deepens the major in Digital Media or supplements it with another subject. The choice is yours.

The complementary course gives you the opportunity to pursue your thirst for knowledge individually by immersing yourself in a completely different field of knowledge, such as business psychology, gender relations and spatial structures, Islamic law or design thinking. By stepping out of your own specialist field and getting involved in other specialist aspects, you will acquire an understanding of the diversity of scientific cultures as well as inter- and transdisciplinary competencies.

STUDY CONTENT

In the English-language Bachelor's degree in Digital Media, you will deal with the culture, history and economy of digital media and at the same time learn the basics of programming.

You will also try out media production in your own practical projects. This not only teaches you to understand new theories, analyzes, tools and trends, but also enables you to accompany and help shape the frenzied media change in a critical and creative manner.

With the Bachelor thesis you complete your media studies. In the thesis, you show that you can apply the basics and methodological knowledge you have learned independently to your own topic and deal scientifically with current issues in digital media.

With the completion of the degree in Digital Media you acquire the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).
