Программа обучения Electrical Engineering

Программа обучения "Electrical Engineering" в University of Applied Sciences for Engineering and Economics (HTW Berlin)

Elektrotechnik

Lifelines for energy and data. Powerfully, it drives machines in industry, moves trains and ships, illuminates houses, streets and cities: But electrical energy is not only powerful, it is also intelligent . Automation ranges from the intelligent refrigerator to the computer-controlled logistics of an airport to the on-board electronics of vehicles or the switching nodes of the Internet. Electrical engineering is at work everywhere. Apparently invisible and yet not to be overlooked - from the smallest microchip to the gigantic turbine in the power plant. Electrical engineers have a hand at the control centers of modern society.

Help shape progress. Electrical engineers played a key role in determining technological progress - in every branch of industry, everywhere in society. At the HTW Berlin you will be taught the necessary tools. The bachelor's degree in electrical engineering offers two specializations: electrical power engineering and automation technology.

Карьерные перспективы по завершению программы обучения "Electrical Engineering"

In the group of top earners

Electronic engineers are urgently needed, not only in large companies such as Siemens, Bombardier or Vattenfall. Studying at the HTW Berlin prepares you for a career in industry, in small and medium-sized companies and in engineering offices. Energy technology and automation are among the innovative drivers of technology and markets in all areas of the economy. That's why companies all over the world are keenly looking for capable career starters. This is reflected in the starting salaries: In the statistics of professional associations and industry, electrical engineers always belong to the group of top earners.

Automation: conductors of the data streams

In automation, electrical engineers take care of the planning and implementation of automation systems, and program controls and computer systems. They write control programs for industry, direct data networks and information streams around the globe. They model and simulate new ideas and solutions, purposefully initiating innovations to increase productivity.

Electrical power engineering: guardians of the most important treasures

Anyone who specializes in electrical power engineering bakes bigger breads in their professional life. Engineers with this specialization calculate and plan energy supply systems for industry, transport systems, settlements and infrastructure. Renewable energies such as photovoltaics, biogas or wind power play a major role in this. They evaluate the technical and economic aspects of power supply and control the distribution of electrical energy using computers and automatic switchgear. With your work you ensure the security of the networks.

Стажировки и практика в программе обучения "Electrical Engineering"

The internship: gaining initial work experience

In addition to the course-related laboratory exercises, an industrial internship is planned for the fifth and sixth semester. It takes at least 640 hours of time. The internship extends into the sixth semester and can be completed in Germany or abroad.

Companies, institutions, engineering offices, service providers and authorities from the subject-specific areas of electrical engineering are considered to be training areas that are suitable for students as part of a specialist internship. These include, for example:

  • Computer-aided work preparation and production;
  • Testing, construction, maintenance and repair of electrotechnical systems, technical information systems and automated systems;
  • Development, production and testing of automation hardware and software components;
  • Design, verification and deployment preparation of automation processes;
  • Configuration of automation systems;
  • Planning of electrical systems and networks; -Areas for quality assurance systems, pilot plants and laboratory set-ups;
  • Construction of components of electrotechnical systems;
  • Electric energy generation, planning, calculation, operation

The bridge to business

The internship builds a bridge to business. Use the internship to make initial contacts with your future employer. It is not uncommon for this to result in the topic of the bachelor thesis. The course maintains close contact with many companies. The professors will help you with the selection of internship companies and support the contacts.

Учебный план программы обучения "Electrical Engineering"

Basic studies

In the first three semesters, you will learn the basics in the mathematical, scientific and technical areas. You can apply and deepen what you have learned in practical laboratory exercises.

Advanced studies

The 4th semester prepares you for the specialization in the 5th semester. You then focus on electrical power engineering or automation technology. Then it goes out into practice: In the 13-week internship, you will gain valuable experience and make initial contacts with companies. The bachelor's thesis is written in the sixth semester, usually from a subject area of the internship.
