The course should help to implement your own artistic ideas, to be able to assess the quality of your own work, to place it in a theoretically relevant context and to present it appropriately. For this purpose, practical, theoretical and artistic-creative skills are acquired. Projects outside the university offer the opportunity to carry out designs and try out possible forms of presentation. The course aims to enable students to formulate their own positions and reactions.
The “art operating system” is becoming more transparent – especially with regard to its social relevance.

Ожидаемые результаты программы обучения "Free Art"
Aspiring artists study in the main areas of artistic basic theory (basic class), painting, drawing and graphics, sculpture (sculpture, installation, spatial conception), media art, interdisciplinary artistic practice, as well as free art and ceramics.
The aim of studying fine arts is the development of an independent artistic identity. The course should qualify you to implement your own artistic ideas, to assess the quality of your work, to place it in a theoretically relevant context and to present it appropriately. To do this, you will develop basic practical, theoretical and artistic/creative skills as part of the bachelor’s degree. In projects outside the university, you specify your creative approach with regard to possible forms of presentation. The course should enable you to formulate your own positions and reactions. In addition to the technical training, the students are made familiar with the operating system "art", also in relation to social relevance.

THE MODULAR SYSTEM
The course at the Muthesius Kunsthochschule is divided into modules. Each module covers an overarching theme in various forms. Some extend over two semesters. At the beginning, the students are taught all the basics. This happens in exercises, at workshop introductions or the so-called basic apprenticeship.
This is followed by lectures, exercises, projects and seminars. In lectures, lecturers give an overview of the topic. Seminars, projects and exercises deepen the content. Here the students should independently develop topics and present them to the group.
MODULE PLANS
There is a module plan for each course. This provides an overview of courses that should or must be taken in the respective semester. Based on the module plans, each student makes their own individual study plan. After registering on the university's own work platform incom, this can be easily created digitally.
INTERDISCIPLINARY NETWORK
In addition to subject-specific events, the Muthesius Academy of Art offers interdisciplinary events. They are organized by the Center for Media, the Institute for Art, Design and Media Studies with its interdisciplinary forum, as well as in the university workshops. They organize special theory seminars, symposiums, workshop weeks or impart technical English and other useful knowledge.
