Lawyers who have graduated abroad can complete the master's program in “German Law” at the Faculty of Law. The 1.5-year course imparts (partially in-depth) basic knowledge of German law and qualifies its participants to confidently deal with how it works and the language. The acquired understanding of context and systematics enables you to further deepen your knowledge independently. The "LL.M." This prepares graduates for a doctorate in Germany as well as for working on cases related to German law.

Note: Completing the “German Law” course does not entitle you to be admitted to the legal preparatory service in Germany. The degree therefore does not enable professional activity in traditional legal professions for which a qualification as a “fully qualified lawyer” (i.e. completion of the 2nd state examination) is required (e.g. judge, lawyer). Admission to the legal preparatory service or to the bar is only possible for (EU) foreigners under certain conditions.
