Карьерные перспективы по завершению программы обучения "Human Medicine"

Doctors vow to put their lives in the service of medical ethics and humanity. Their goal is to sustain life, protect or restore health, and alleviate suffering. They examine, treat and give medical advice to patients.

They mainly work in clinics and practices. In addition, they can work for medical and rescue services, in health authorities or as company doctors in large companies. They can also find employment opportunities in nursing homes, hospices and short-term care facilities. The areas of medical research and teaching also offer career prospects. Alternatively, many doctors now work in hospital management / controlling, medical informatics, consulting, quality assurance, epidemiological research, the development of health promotion programs for companies and schools, health advice or the management of development aid projects.

Medical journalists are also in demand today more than ever. Your work consists mainly of information research in databases and libraries, at congresses and in interviews. You write medical science articles for print or internet media, create contributions for radio and television programs or publish books. Employers are, for example, newspapers, magazines, radio or news agencies as well as press offices in authorities and companies. (Dtsch Ärztebl 2002; 99: A 100–102 [Issue 3])

Studying medicine and working as a practicing doctor are associated with considerable demands. Desirable characteristics of potential medical students are therefore good physical and psychological resilience, social competence and open-mindedness, good linguistic communication skills, teamwork, as well as a basic interest in natural sciences and especially for a potential activity in the surgical subjects: dexterity and good technical understanding.

Стажировки и практика в программе обучения "Human Medicine"

Clinical traineeship (in the main course)

The clinical traineeship is intended to familiarize the students with medical patient care in outpatient and inpatient care facilities. The four-month clinical traineeship is to be completed after the physics until the beginning of the practical year of the lecture-free period in the following institutions:

1. for a period of one month in an outpatient health care facility managed by a doctor or in a suitable medical practice,

2. in a hospital and for a period of two months

3. for a period of one month, alternatively in one of the facilities named in number 1 or 2.

Practical year

During the practical year, which “focuses on patient training, the students should deepen and expand the medical knowledge, skills and abilities acquired during their previous studies. They should learn to apply them to the individual case of illness. For this purpose, they should perform the medical tasks assigned to them according to their level of training under the guidance, supervision and responsibility of the training doctor. As a rule, you should be present in the hospital all day on all working days of the week. The training includes the participation of the students in clinical conferences, including the pharmacotherapeutic and clinical-pathological discussions. In order to ensure proper training, the number of students should be proportionate to the number of available hospital beds with patients who are suitable for teaching. The students must not be involved in activities that do not promote their training. (ÄAppO)

Учебный план программы обучения "Human Medicine"

The standard period of study, including the examination period, is six years and three months, with the last year comprising a continuous practical training of 48 weeks (practical year).

The pre-clinical training (first stage of study) lasts 2 years and concludes with the first stage of the medical examination ("Physikum"). The written part of the examination is standardized nationwide. In the preclinical part of the study, in addition to the necessary scientific knowledge, the basics of human anatomy / physiology / biochemistry are taught (particular attention is paid to clinical references) and supplemented by an introduction to medical psychology and sociology. The first section of the medical examination (written and oral) therefore contains the subjects of physics, physiology, chemistry, biochemistry / molecular biology, biology, anatomy, basics of medical psychology and medical sociology in the written part, while the main subjects anatomy, biochemistry and physiology are oral checked.

The second phase of training after the physics course (4 years) includes clinical subjects (such as internal medicine / surgery / paediatrics), clinical-theoretical subjects (e.g. pharmacology / microbiology / human genetics), and so-called cross-sectional areas in where different subjects work on a topic (e.g. geriatric medicine) together. Some of the subjects are already examined during the clinical course. In addition, at the end of the medical degree, there is the second section of the medical examination (again written and oral).

After passing the second section of the course, graduates can apply for a license to practice medicine. The license to practice medicine is the prerequisite for taking up medical activity in the further training phase to become a specialist.

The duration of the course depends on the individual course of study. The standard period of study, i.e. the time in which the intended study program can ideally be completed, is 13 semesters. The actual duration of study can differ from this. It is limited by the examination deadlines, which are regulated in the examination regulations.
