The bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, specializing in physical technologies and laser technology, consists of a set of different modules that gives you great freedom in planning your academic career. You can choose from two content-related lines: The economic modules are provided by the Institute for Technical Management (ITB), while our physics engineering department is responsible for the engineering modules. Right from the start, these two lines have been closely interlinked.
In the first semesters we teach you the basics of business administration and controlling. At the same time, you will acquire basic knowledge of mathematics, the natural sciences and engineering.
In the fourth and fifth semesters, various elective modules offer you specialization options. At the ITB, you can sharpen your profile in human resources, international management or patents, for example. In our department you can choose from a wide range of modules such as laser technology, sensor technology or technical optics.
In business simulation games, through communication training and project management exercises, you will learn how to use your know-how in practice.
In the final semester, you will then apply your knowledge in an internship. Our good contacts in business and industry ensure that you have an attractive practice partner. You will also write your bachelor thesis during this time. In the meantime, you are always connected through colloquia and have the opportunity to discuss your theses and ideas with other students.
