Since IT security is a very practical field of application, the degree program IT Security attaches great importance to a high degree of practical relevance. It is important to train students in practical information security from the very beginning. Already in the first semester, the students therefore learn to deal independently with methods and tools in the field of offensive security (hacking). Practical instruction is also of great importance in the further course of studies. Events such as cyber security, network and system security as well as offensive security are therefore always accompanied by extensive internship and lab exercises. The study and examination regulations of the Bachelor's degree program provide for the Integrated Practical Study Semester (IPS) in the 6th semester. In addition to the professional skills module with 4 SWS, the IPS includes a practical job in a 20-week company. In the IPS, the students should prove that they are able to unfold the previous course contents such as the experienced knowledge, the proven methodological competence and the strengthened personality in a business-oriented practice-oriented manner.Учебный план программы обучения "IT Security"
Mathematics and programming are part of the IT / Computer Science studies. But Bachelor IT Security is not about memorizing but about understanding. The necessary know-how is developed step by step. Small groups, voluntary tutorials and personal mentoring by the professors help to close individual gaps quickly.
The standard period of study of the Bachelors IT Security is seven semesters. The integrated practical semester is scheduled for the sixth semester. In the seventh semester, the practice-oriented thesis (bachelor thesis) is on the plan. For the completion of the Bachelor of Science 210 ECTS points have to be earned.
In the first two semesters, the Bachelor IT Security has many overlaps with the study programs Business Informatics and Technical Computer Science. After an orientation phase, it is no problem to switch between these courses of study.
1st-5th Semester
In the first semesters, the profiling foundations take place. Then you can choose from four wells.Practical semester
In the integrated practical study semester you put your knowledge into practice and make the first contacts in the industry.
7th Semester
In the last semester you put your individual focus with electives and then write your bachelor thesis.
