The consecutive master's program in medical physics offers research-oriented training in physics with a medical-physical specialization in the following areas:
- Biophysics
- Physical basics of medical technology
- Radiation physics, dosimetry, radiation protection and nuclear medicine
- Medical imaging and optics
By integrating medical subjects into the medical physics course (Bachelor and Master), essential training content necessary for later recognition as a medical physicist is conveyed during the course of study.

Physicists can be found in many areas of industry and economy that place special demands on analytical and systematic skills. For example, physicists work in basic and industrial research, in application-related development, on planning and examination tasks in industry and administration, in consulting and sales, but also in the software industry or banking. Of course, studying physics also forms the basis for work in teaching at school and university.
The courses in medical physics prepare in particular for work as a medical physics expert in clinical practice or in medical-physical research.
Our consecutive Bachelor / Master course is certified by the German Society for Medical Physics as an access for professional recognition.

Compulsory elective modules (10 CP): Advanced Computational Physics, Advanced Solid State and Surface Physics, Advanced Solid State and Surface Physics, Advanced Surface Science, Experimental Physics of Ferroic Materials, Experimental Polymer Physics, Semiconductor Physics, Optoelectronic Characterization, Magnetism and Spin Dynamics, Micro - and nanophotonics, photonics and ultrafast optics, photovoltaics, physics of materials and functional materials, physics in nanostructures and reduced dimensions, theoretical solid state physics, theoretical physics_M, theory of soft matter, in-depth topics of theoretical physics, in-depth topics of soft matter.
