"Managing with commitment for the greater good!" is the motto that characterizes the degree program Public Management. Anyone who wants to work in the public sector and would like to obtain an academic degree is in the right place.
The Bachelor degree program Public Management offers an interdisciplinary and practice-oriented study program that provides instruction in management expertise for the public sector. The degree program has a general orientation so as to meet the requirements entailed in managing public companies and services as well as charitable and nonprofit organizations (NPO). In addition to economic, social, political, and legal sciences, students as instructed in further overarching competencies and key qualifications. Starting in the thirds semester, students have the opportunity to select two specializations.

A semester abroad is possible on a voluntary basis in the fourth or fifth semester. You will receive organizational support from the International Faculty Office (IFO) and from the course coordinator. International excursions are offered during the block weeks.

Internships in Germany or abroad are possible on a voluntary basis. The scientific practical project in the 6th semester is mandatory.
Учебный план программы обучения "Public Management"
The standard period of study for the Bachelor's degree in Public Management is six semesters in total. The course comprises five theoretical semesters and concludes with the scientific practical project and the bachelor thesis in the sixth semester.
In the first part of the course, i.e. in the first two semesters, you will receive a well-founded introduction to the subjects of business administration, social and political sciences and law. In addition to basic methodological and specialist knowledge, key qualifications are taught.
The remaining four semesters form the second part of the course. In the third, fourth and fifth semester, special knowledge for the public sector is acquired and questions from these areas are dealt with in an application-oriented manner. In the course of the course, two block courses must also be completed.
From the third semester you can choose two specializations from five specialization options, which then enable you to set a technical focus in three consecutive semesters. The following five specializations are offered: Human Resources, Accounting and Controlling, Marketing, Event Management, and Taxes.
A semester abroad is possible on a voluntary basis in the fourth or fifth semester. You will receive organizational support from the International Faculty Office (IFO) of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences and from the course coordinator. In addition, you can also complete the Scientific Practice Project module abroad in the 6th semester and then complete your studies with your bachelor's thesis.
