Mobility is a basis for the functioning of a modern and sustainable society. Digital and networked transport offers, the increasing automation of vehicles and innovative transport concepts pose major social and logistical challenges for the transport sector. At the same time, there are social requirements with regard to climate and noise protection, keeping the air clean, energy and land consumption and traffic safety. That is why the Faculty of Transportation Science "Friedrich List" offers an interdisciplinary university education that takes up these interrelationships and presents and tries to shape them in their complexity.

Therefore, they are qualified to take on activities in companies involved in transport practice, in the transport-related economy, in consultancy companies, in associations or ministries on a national and international level.

In the first three semesters of the bachelor's degree in Transportation Economics, teaches general scientific fundamentals in mathematics, statistics, programming, law, and languages, as well as subject-related fundamentals of business, economics, and transportation economics. In addition, the understanding of the traffic system is expanded through the content of traffic engineering. A wide range of supplementary modules that can be taken in later semesters rounds off the personal study profile.
The course concludes with writing a bachelor thesis in one of the selected areas of focus.

Faculty of Transport Science “Friedrich List”
Technische Universität DresdenThe Faculty of Transport Science "Friedrich List" is the largest academic competence center in the field of transport science in Germany with university research and teaching that has been based in Dresden for over 60 years. With its complex systems science approach, it is oriented towards the complexity of transport and communications and thus takes into account the dynamic challenges of the transport markets. With its interdisciplinary teaching and research network from transport economics, transport engineering, transport infrastructure and transport technology, it makes an important contribution to the sustainable development of all transport and infrastructure systems in order to meet the constantly growing mobility needs of society.
The faculty has 7 institutes with over 20 professors and more than 300 employees.
A total of around 2,000 students study in the diploma, bachelor's and master's degree programs of the faculty as well as across faculties.
