Thanks to the diverse skills you have acquired in the field of energy technology, you will be able to develop, dimension, build and operate energy technology systems. You can also work in the areas of consulting, strategic planning, product development and simulation, in a national but especially in an international environment.

The skills in the field of scientific work also open up the possibility of a scientific career with activities in global energy research and a doctorate.

With the international Master's degree "M.Eng.", many paths are open to you: in the energy market and in the energy industry, many highly qualified specialists will still be needed in the long term, both in Germany and internationally.

The master's program "International Energy Engineering" provides you with numerous compulsory and elective modules in-depth knowledge of energy technology. The internationally oriented training promotes your skills for working in an international environment.

The following topics are covered in the "International Energy Engineering" master's program:

The program consists of three semesters. It is aimed at students who are starting the course with a bachelor's degree with 210 ECTS credit points.

Students who start the course with a bachelor's degree with 180 ECTS credit points must make up the difference of 30 ECTS credit points from the bachelor's degree programs offered by the faculty by the end of the second semester at the latest. For this purpose, the university offers special bridging modules within a "bridging semester" (see below). For students who complete this additional bridging semester - which is also highly recommended for students with a bachelor's degree with 210 ECTS credit points - the course comprises four semesters.

In the first and second (professional) semester there are a few compulsory modules and many options, so that the students can set individual priorities.

The master's thesis is due in the third semester.

After successfully completing the course, you will start your career with the title "Master of Engineering (M. Eng.) International Energy Engineering".

    The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering/Environmental Technology (MB/UT) trains the engineers of tomorrow.

    Our range of courses leading to a bachelor's degree include courses in mechanical engineering, mechatronics and digital automation, plastics technology, patent engineering, biological and environmental process engineering as well as energy technology and energy efficiency.

    If all the basic requirements are met, an aptitude test will take place. For this purpose, an assessment of specific suitability in the field of energy technology is carried out, to be verified by:

    • scientific work/project work as part of your bachelor's degree in the subjects of energy technology, energy efficiency and energy management and
    • Practical experience in the field of energy technology or areas related to energy technology

    Please submit relevant documents/evidence with your application, e.g. B. Your thesis, project work, records of laboratory work or internships, references.

    These specific aptitudes are evaluated by a selection committee at the university. Together with the final grade of the bachelor's degree, an overall grade is determined. If this is 2.5 or better, the applicant will be admitted and will receive a corresponding notification.
